The Method
“Make the impossible possible, the possible easy, the easy elegant.” M.F.
Feldenkrais® brings into play the brain’s plasticity (the ability of our brain to change) by using gentle movement, guided attention and touch to improve self-awareness and enhance how we move, think, feel and sense. Thus expanding how we experience ourselves and how we interact with our environment.
The Feldenkrais Method is essentially a learning method, a neuro-motor training that helps overcome habitual movement patterns that can cause recurring pain, injuries and posture imbalances. Learning about our tendencies can unlock possibilities, bring back flexibility, and coordination, expanding how we think, sense, feel and move. The method offers a way of learning by discovery, the same way babies learn, which is the most organic and long-lasting way to sustain improvement and changes.
By understanding how we move and act, we draw in our brain a fuller picture of our self-image. And completing that self-image, helps us uncover interferences and limitations in our movements. Thus Feldenkrais provides new ways to organise our body, efficiency and adaptability in our daily activities, such as walking, sitting, balancing, running, gardening, dancing, playing tennis, cycling, practising Martial Arts, yoga, Pilates etc…
This neatly designed movement system was developed by Moshé Feldenkrais (1904-1984), an engineer, physicist, and founder of the first Judo Club in France.
“We act in accordance to our self-image.” M.F.
You can experience Feldenkrais® in two ways
Group lessons called Awareness Through Movement®
Individual lessons called Funtional Integration®
After an ATM or FI, students often feel more grounded, at ease with their breath, and have a sense of well-being. A series of lessons will give time to the nervous system to familiarise itself with the new approach, giving a chance to the body to learn subtly but deeply new ways of moving.

“I’ve had a number of fantastic Feldenkrais sessions with Laure. She brings a wealth of knowledge, understanding and care to her work. She has helped me massively with a neck issue I’ve had for some time. Making extremely helpful suggestions through the physical work and being genuinely understanding in our conversations during our 1-1 sessions. Laure really is a wonderful practitioner and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.”

I enjoyed my ATM classes with Laure over Zoom. I learned a lot about moving my body in different ways and still use some of the methods outside of class. I loved having the little “ah ha” moments when my body moved with ease. I thought it was remarkable how she could guide me over Zoom and provide different prompts if I was struggling to understand the moves. Wish I lived in London to see her in person!
